The Minister of Education, Mr. Ramadhan Abdalla Shaban, will award the scholarship to Miss. Omar, on behalf of a sponsor of the Jahazi Literary & Jazz Festival. Mr. Shaban said “Awarding a university scholarship is a first here in Zanzibar, so we and the community are very excited about this and what it means for Salha - and future winners of the Writers’ for Peace competition. Jahazi Literary & Jazz Festival is giving young people and a fantastic opportunity to aspire to become something great.”
The Writers’ for Peace schools competition is designed to inspire school children and encourage them to nurture cultures that value education and peace.
