EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

POSITIONS:
1.    Writer/Journalist
2.    Photo/Videographer

The School of St Jude is a charity funded school that provides a FREE, high-quality education to over 1,900 Primary and Secondary children from the disadvantaged communities in Arusha.
We are seeking a creative energetic individual to fill the above positions in our business departmentat the School of St Jude, P. O. Box 11875 Arusha, Tanzania.

Job Purposes:
•    Responsible for communicating and updating both current supporters of the school as well as potential supporters
•    To take photos as needed for the whole school, in particular for sponsorship and donation purposes.

1.Writer/Journalist
Key Responsibilities;
•    Setting up communication plans so that sponsors and donors are updated.
•    Maintaining accurate database records in respect to what has been communicated with supporters
•    Constantly reviewing communication and investigate ways to improve quality and supporter engagement potential.
•    Ability to prepare documents that could be used as templates for many recipients.

Skills and Competency;
•    Superb English writing skills,
•    Creativity and proactivity
•    Understanding of different audiences
•    Socially strong, energetic, enthusiastic personality
•    Ideas for and guidance on photography and video work

2.    Photo/Videographer
Key Responsibilities
•    To perform tasked from a set schedule organised and coordinated by the Supporter Relations Manager
•    To interview students, teachers, other staff depending on video script requirements.
•    To seek photographic opportunities of interesting classes, professional development activities, presentations, performances, visitors and activities occurring on all three campus’
•    To edit, label, resize, sort and file digital images and video logically and within set timeframes.
Skills and Competency;
•    Creativity and proactivity
•    Strong working knowledge of photo and video shooting and editing
•    Identifying and putting into action opportunities for relevant photo/video
•    Very strong social skills; interviewing, engaging people and crowds, training (English and Kiswahili)
•    Knowledge of equipment and  software
•    Organizational skills (storage/filing of all photographic material, equipment)

Academic Qualifications: Minimum a Diploma qualification is required, Bachelor Degree will be an added advantage.
